The Top 10: Planned Parenthood's Most Hated

Following our Lobby Day featured speaker Jill Stanek on Twitter yesterday, I came across a tweet about a blog post of interest to her by Paul Cooper at PJ Media. He notes that it hasn't been a good several months for Planned Parenthood. From self-inflicted wounds to its typical heavy-handedness to losses in state legislatures across the country to a national outcry against federal funding it receives to its manipulation of the Komen cancer organization, it's feeling the heat of being a hundred million dollar pariah. Finally. As Mr. Cooper writes:

While the abortion wars have raged for decades, new issues in recent years have heated up the debate again. And at the center of the controversy: Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Under heavy scrutiny both in the public eye and among some politicians, Marget Sanger's organization has long profited off the generous coffers of our federal treasury. But with more Americans adopting pro-life views and more citizens realizing our government has no money, more people question if Planned Parenthood deserves our hard-earned tax dollars.

The reason more and more Americans are aware of Planned Parenthood's nefarious deeds? According to Mr. Cooper it's a Top 10 PP Enemies List. An interesting element is its pro-abortion-caricature-busting-demographics. Long the whine of pro-aborts, that "old white men are trying to tell women what to do with their bodies," (as if that was ever true) the 10 people most irritatingly burr-in-the-side to PP this year was a mix of races, ages, faiths and sexes — even a machine.

The list includes Steven Ertelt and, the aforementioned Ms. Stanek (we know how to book keynote speakers, don't we?), which makes it funny that she didn't blog about herself making this Badge of Honor list; Father Frank Pavone and Priests for Life, including his top aide, Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; the ultrasound machine (would've never guessed that one!); Crisis Pregnancy Centers; Marjorie Dannenfelser and the Susan B. Anthony List; Abby Johnson and other former PP workers who are coming out and exposing PP's fraud; Lila Rose and Live Action; Charmaine Yoest and Americans United for Life (another great TFF friend); and, he surmises, whoever the 2012 Republican candidate for president is.

We salute those people, organizations and, yes, the ultrasound for all they are doing to protect the unborn and derail Planned Parenthood's abortion-on-demand agenda. To read more about why Mr. Cooper picked who he did and their exact places in the Top 10, find the entire article here.
