If It Was True Then . . .

Regarding the current contentiousness over Medicaid/Obamacare expansion and every other ever-increasing government program, newest "necessity" and the overall proclivity for governments — local, state and national — to spend hard=earned tax money from their citizens: If Thomas Jefferson believed we had too large a government during the first third of the 19th century, we most likely  have way too much of it now. If it was true then, it would be incredulous to think it wasn't so now.
