NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia quickly jumped on board the pro-abortion hijacking bandwagon and accepted the challenge by posting a "eat a taco, drink a beer, and fund abortion" video highlighting the participation of their staff.
I know that many in the pro-life movement have been critical of the ALS ice bucket challenge because of the organization where the money goes, but let's set that aside for the moment. I find the "eat a taco, drink a beer" challenge cruelly ironic. The purpose of the ALS challenge was to raise awareness and support for finding a cure for ALS - a cruel, cruel disease the brutally wrenches life from many otherwise healthy human beings.
Now consider "eat a taco, drink a beer." The purpose of the challenge is to donate to an abortion fund. More accurately stated, the purpose is to brutally wrench life from many otherwise healthy human beings. See the comparison? See the cruel irony? The abortion industry hijacked a bandwagon tool with the goal of saving lives and made it a tool for the exact opposite - the destruction of human life. Caught up in the cool social awareness tool, they sought to further their political agenda and profit-making machine, and they missed the point.
If you eat a taco or drink a beer this weekend, skip the third part of their challenge. As a substitute, I suggest donating to your local Pregnancy Resource Center or perhaps Heartbeat International because that is where lives are saved.
