Values Voter Summit

Watch The Values Voter Summit Webcast

Every October — for the last 13 years — FRC Action has hosted the Values Voter Summit. It is one of the premier gatherings, if not the most important, of annual, must-attend events for conservative voters and policy makers alike. Not only do thousands of informed, Christian conservative activists attend, headline makers from Capitol Hill and other walks of life address attendees amongst great gobs of media as well. To suffice, it's a must-do on the political calendar, and its sponsors include The Heritage Foundation, AFA Action, American Values, Liberty University/Liberty Council and Family Research Council. But if you could not attend, fear not. The summit is archived online.  It is free and includes remarks by conservative movement leaders and luminaries, including our Gala speaker, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. If you missed him in Richmond, see him online. Senator Cruz was greeted very warmly at the summit, just as he was here, and also protested by left-wingers (see, just as he was here, proving at once that the Left is unrelenting and that Senator Cruz poses a threat to it. Other prominent speakers include U.S. Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Mike Lee of Utah, Dr. Ben Carson, and radio talkers Glenn Beck and Mark Levin.

Just click the image below, then click on the speakers you want to see. It's that simple. Choose from among the speaker archives and sit back in the comfort of your home and hear and learn what some of the most influential thinkers and policy makers have to say about the state of our nation, our future, and what Christian conservatives can do to shape both.

BREAKING NEWS: TFF Gala Speaker Herman Cain Expands Lead Over GOP Field And Leads Obama In New Zogby Poll!

A new IBOPE-Zogby poll (see now shows Herman Cain, the keynote speaker at tomorrow night's Family Foundation Annual Gala, has expanded his lead in the Republican presidential nomination campaign, and now leads President Barack Obama 46-44 percent.

The poll question about the GOP nomination, asked only of Republican primary voters, yielded these results:

Herman Cain 38%

Mitt Romney 18%

Rick Perry 12%

Ron Paul 12%

Newt Gingrich 4%

Jon Huntsman, Jr. 4%

Michele Bachmann 3%

Rick Santorum 1%

The match-up question vs. President Obama was asked of all likely voters. The poll also showed the president's job approval rating at 41 percent and his "deserved to be re-elected" number at a paltry 38 percent.

But that wasn't the only news Herman Cain made today. He lit up the crowd at the Values Voter Summit earlier this afternoon in Washington and a tracking of Twitter comments adds anecdotal evidence to the traction and excitement he is generating among voters:

"Everyone is literally on the edge of their seats while listening to Cain. Too cool."

“Cain is bringing down the house!”

“Electric crowd for Herman Cain!”

“Wow! Herman Cain has excited the Values Voters Summit crowd the most today.”

“I'd pop 50 lbs of popcorn to watch Herman Cain debate Barack Obama!”

“Herman Cain is killing it!!!”

That is only some of the immediate reaction. (View the Values Voter Summit live or archived online by clicking here!) But you can see for yourself what the excitement is all about. Tickets are still available for tomorrow night's event. Come join more than 1,000 like-minded conservatives in good fun, fellowship and food, while meeting committed conservatives from all over Virginia. You really don't want to miss Herman Cain tomorrow night.

Breaking News: Fox News Channel To Cover Family Foundation's 25th Anniversary Gala!

Two days remain to buy tickets to see Congressman Mike Pence (R-Ind.) deliver the keynote speech at The Family Foundation's 25th Anniversary Gala, this Saturday, October 9, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Winner of the recent 2012 presidential straw poll at the Family Research Council's Values Voter Summit (see video for a preview of what to expect Saturday), Congressman Pence has been turning heads as a rising star in the conservative movement. So much so, in fact, we just learned that Fox News Channel intends to cover the gala! Last weekend, Congressman Pence, the third ranking member of the House Republican Conference, traveled to Iowa — not by accident, he joked — where he spoke to the Faith and Freedom Coalition dinner (Iowa Independent). A hero among social and fiscal conservatives, Congressman Pence's remarks were enthusiastically received (see Kathie Obradovich at The DesMoines Register's Iowa Politcs Blog). In short, he is rising to the top of the 2012 GOP presidential field.

This quote from that speech is an example of why he is held in such high regard by social conservatives (see Caffeinated Thoughts and its podcast):

To those who say we should focus on fiscal issues, instead of the right to life, I say, "What is more fiscally responsible than denying any and all funding to Planned Parenthood of America?" To those who say that marriage doesn’t matter, I say, "You would not be able to print enough money in 1,000 years to pay for the government you would need if the traditional family continues to collapse."

In addition to registering online, you can purchase tickets by phone through Friday at (804) 343-0010 by Friday. The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and is preceded by a private sponsors' reception and picture opportunity with Congressman Pence at 5:15 p.m.

Here's one more sample of what you'll get with Mike Pence:

Gala Update: Grammy And Dove Award Nominee Wayburn Dean To Perform!

The Family Foundation's 25th Anniversary Gala is Saturday, October 9, and the date is rapidly approaching. We hope you have your tickets or are at least planning on ordering them very soon. As this update details, it's becoming one of the hottest tickets this political season. Click here or call 804-343-0010 or e-mail to to place 0rders for single tickets, couples tickets, VIP reception and/or sponsorships. But please don't wait — we have more than 1,000 confirmed guests and space is filling up fast as we approach last year's record attendance. Congressman Mike Pence, winner of the recent 2012 Values Voter Summit presidential straw poll, held by Family Research Council Action, is the keynote speaker. One leading conservative credits Pence for single-handedly insisting that the Congressional Republicans' new "Pledge to America" included life, marriage and family issues.

The deadline to reserve a room at the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown (501 East Broad Street) at a reduced rate also is approaching quickly. The Family Foundation room block will be held until Thursday, September 30. If you or your guests are planning to stay overnight, please call 1-877-782-9444 to make your reservation today and mention "The Family Foundation Gala" or click here.

Congressman Pence won't be our only special guest: Wayburn Dean, a member of the Gospel quartet Acappella during its rise to prominence, where he received both Grammy and Dove Award nominations, and who now performs as a solo artist, will perform "America the Beautiful" and two of his hit singles. His song "What Will Be Your Legacy?" (which he will peform for us) was selected as the Number 5 inspirational single for 2009 by Christian Music Weekly.

Gala Speaker Mike Pence Wins Presidential Straw Poll At Values Voter Summit!

We've been making the case that our 25th Anniversary Gala speaker, Congressman Mike Pence (R-Ind.), is one of the leading conservatives in America. Well respected by his colleagues and those in the conservative media, his star is shining brightly among the grassroots now, too, as Saturday he won the closely watched Values Voter Summit Presidential Straw Poll with 24 percent of the vote over 17 potential candidates (see The 2,000 summit attendees voted (see Outside The Beltway's Doug Mataconis) last year's gala speaker, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, second. The others who received votes in the straw poll, in alphabetical order, were Haley Barbour, Jan Brewer, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Jim DeMint, Newt Gingrich, Bobby Jindal, Bob McDonnell, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum and John Thune.

This year's gala not only will be a chance to hear one of the leaders and intellectual forces behind the conservative movement, but also to share in the celebration of 25 years of fighting the good fight for traditional and family values. Already, more than 900 people have bought tickets to the event (nearing last year's record), and you will want to see for yourself why Congressman Pence is so respected by thousands of conservative grassroots leaders and activists from around the nation.

This very special Family Foundation event, one that will be remembered long after it is over, is Saturday, October 9, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center at 6:30 (5:15 sponsors reception with Congressman Pence). To order your tickets or for sponsorship information, get complete details here, e-mail us at, or call The Family Foundation at (804) 343-0010.

See the speech that drove Values Voter Summit attendees to vote Mike Pence its 2012 presidential favorite:

Pence, commonsense and common values: "Those who would have us ignore the battle being fought over life, marriage and religious liberty, have forgotten the lessons of history. As in the days of a house divided, America's darkest moments have come when economic arguments trumped moral principles."
