Another  important issue that will likely be determined by November’s state Senate elections is the fate of a Constitutional amendment protecting property rights.  Though legislation creating the amendment passed this year’s General Assembly by overwhelming numbers, local governments are busy spending your tax dollars ramping up their efforts to derail the legislation when it comes before the GA again next year. Our friend Norm Leahy over at Bearing Drift has some great analysis of the issue.

Almost as amazing as having to defend our inalienable right to exercise our faith in public is our need to protect our own property from government interests.  Such is the state of our Commonwealth.

Both these issues, religious liberty and property rights, are featured on our 2011 Voter Guides.  These core, fundamental rights are foundational to all of our freedoms.  Both are at stake on November 8th.
