Grassroots Organization
Former Congressional Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill once said that, "all politics are local." History shows that organizations dedicated to social reform usually start with a small group of committed individuals focused on a specific goal. For this reason, The Family Foundation has targeted significant resources toward building a network of strong local grassroots groups. This effort is an important part of our Campaign for Virginia's Families.
Building on our research and education strengths, The Family Foundation is organizing pro-family citizens in Virginia, forming powerful, local grassroots organizations that can affect their community, their Commonwealth, and their nation. An educated, energized and mobilized system of citizens committed to shared values can change our culture! By organizing like-minded citizens ready for action, Virginia will never be the same.
We have divided Virginia into eight regions – Southwest, Valley, Northern, Central, Southside, Capital, Chesapeake Bay and Tidewater. Local groups have already begun to organize in the Southwest, Valley, Central and Tidewater areas. In addition, each region will be divided by county, with county leaders needed for each. Leadership responsibilities include growing and organizing the region and county chapters.
If you would like more information regarding forming a regional or county chapter of The Family Foundation, please contact our Grassroots Coordinator, John Smith, 804-343-0010 or john@familyfoundation.org. You can learn more about our regional forums by clicking the links below.
