It’s Complete Chaos in Fairfax Public Schools

Fairfax County Public Schools and their radical, progressive policies are imploding right before our very eyes.  Now the school system is under investigation after explosive allegations that school officials arranged and paid for abortions for two students, without telling their parents.

One former student says a school social worker scheduled her abortion and paid for it using school resources. Another, five months pregnant, was allegedly told she “had no choice” but to have an abortion. In both cases, parents were kept completely in the dark.

Centreville High School teacher Zenaida Perez tried to sound the alarm seven times about school officials allegedly arranging and paying for abortions for underage students without parental consent, only to be ignored and retaliated against. Perez says she first reported the misconduct in May 2022, detailing how a school social worker scheduled and funded a 17-year-old’s abortion in secret, and later offered the same “help” to another student who was five months pregnant. Despite bringing her concerns to multiple administrators and even outside investigators, Perez says the district covered it up.

Governor Glenn Youngkin has also weighed in, calling the allegations “deeply concerning” and announcing that he is directing the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation to open a full criminal investigation into whether Fairfax County school officials arranged abortions for minors without parental consent and misused public funds to pay for them.

If the unrestricted abortion amendment (HJ1/SJ247) passes, this kind of misconduct would be protected by the Virginia Constitution.

HJ1 would:

  • Erase any parental consent protections.

  • Remove requirements for abortionists to have medical training or credentials.

  • Shield school administrators and faculty from discipline if they help a minor get an abortion in secret.

The proposed unrestricted abortion amendment gives cover to exactly the type of gross misconduct we’re seeing in Fairfax. If it passes, scandals like this won’t be anomalies, they’ll be the new normal.

This is why HJ1 and SJ247 must be stopped. We cannot let the most extreme abortion amendment in the country be written into our Constitution.
