Our Voices

Our voices—Virginia parents, families, church members, and those who cannot speak, including the unborn—were censored, and even erased in the last few sessions. This was done through hundreds of new laws that undermine parental rights, reverse decades of pro-life gains, and directly threaten the freedoms of our churches and religious schools.

Now it’s time to give those voices back. We can’t stay silent. And we can’t do this alone. That’s why we’re inviting you to join Speak Up! Virginia—a movement that allows us to speak louder together. Contribute your voice today by filling out the form attached to the button below to receive updates.

Our Activities

Mama Bear Day

Yes, parents do have a say on what their kids experience at school—and that includes explicit content on the library shelves; outside speakers coming into their child’s classroom; as well as the overall direction of children’s education. “Parents have made this message clear in multiple elections and school board meetings—and now they’re making it clear at the State Capitol.” That point is unmistakably demonstrated on Parental Rights Day, otherwise known as “Mama Bear Day,” through the crowds of moms and dads showing up at the State Capitol every year to rally for key parental rights legislation.

The day begins at The Family Foundation of Virginia office and ends at the State Capitol. You'll have the chance stand up for parental rights at a press conference; meet with your elected officials; receive recognition on the floor of the House of Delegates; and get up-to-the-minute information from The Family Foundation’s policy team on the status of key legislation affecting your parental rights! Registration will open for 2024 later in the year!
