Robots Dispensing Abortion Pills; Plus, Victoria’s Honest “State of the State” Report on VA

"No matter how much leftists claim to be on the side of women, they're actually on the side of drug dealers, abortionists and human traffickers--that's just the reality of what the bills tell us."  Those are the hard-hitting words of Victoria Cobb, Family Foundation's president, from her sobering update on the state of the culture war in Virginia, featured in this week's Speak Up! Virginia podcast. She also lays out a timely challenge: How Virginians can win a victory that echoes across the nation in the battle to protect human life. Plus, Victoria gives an on-the-ground report from the U.S. Supreme Court hearing on chemical abortion pills.

A rally was held recently outside the U.S. Supreme Court for The FDA v.  the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. A group of doctors and associations came to the Court challenging the FDA, alleging that the FDA has both rushed the process of the chemical abortion pill being approved and rolled back the safety protocols that were put in place.

These doctors are working in the ERs. Because of the removed safety protocols, women are coming to the ER needing these doctors to complete their abortions. This is the opposite of what they signed up for in their careers.

One bizarre demonstration outside the court that day featured a little abortion pill robot rolling around dispensing pills, reported on by The Daily Signal.

Demonstrations like these attempt to normalize the abortion pill by comparing it to Tylenol. However the abortion pill is extremely dangerous for women past a certain stage of pregnancy, and those who self-administrate the abortion pill often don't even get a doctor’s appointment or a pharmacist to cross check which medications they are taking. Women deserve more than abortion.

By the end of June or early July, we should get a decision from the US Supreme Court.

In this episode, Victoria also gives us a broad overview of the forces at play, both good and evil in our own state.

On the one hand, the liberal majority refused to hold fentanyl drug dealers responsible for the deaths that their greed caused. They didn’t want to hold abortionists accountable either, proposing legislation to protect abortionists and pharmacists who participate in illegal abortions in other states would. Worse than that, Virginia would harbor these folks for their illegal actions in other states.

As demonstrated by the bills they passed, Leftists in the General Assembly made sure that we knew that they neither value life in the womb nor in advanced stages.

This is not a Virginia we want to see.

On the other hand, a biblical worldview was put forward by several hardworking, noble legislators.  For the first time in a very long time, we have Christians in the office of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. The Family Foundation’s newly established Church Ambassador Network led by Pastor Mike Morisi is making real impact in our capitol, bringing pastors from across Virginia to create nearly 500 connections between pastors and legislators during the period that our General Assembly was in session. One senator described these visits by saying “They fill my heart with hope and peace that [God] is in control.”

Our Commonwealth is full of people who love God. Many are diligently working to hold back the tide, especially regarding the evil in our own school system up here.

Virginia wins when indoctrination stops.  But whether you're a glass half empty perspective or a glass half full kind of person, Virginia stands at a critical juncture. In just two years, we face a ballot measure that threatens to dramatically increase the number of abortions, not only affecting thousands of unborn Virginians, but also potentially drawing in thousands more from across the South. Democrats introduced legislation for unrestricted abortion rights and have announced that its passage is their primary goal.

This pivotal moment could shift Virginia to become the abortion capitol of the South, an outcome The Family Foundation is dedicated to preventing.

Imagine a Virginia where every life is valued, creating a culture of care and compassion that serves not only as a model for the South, but the whole nation. We can turn the tide in this fight against abortion with a win here and help provide a roadmap for the rest of the country as they fight these battles.
