Mark Herring Pushes for Abortions Via Zoom!

“Never let a crisis go to waste,” as the infamous saying goes, and this time that mantra is being championed by none other the abortion industry and its bought-and-paid-for politicians, including Virginia’s Attorney General.

Mark Herring, who has received millions in campaign donations from Big Abortion, just signed onto a letter with 20 other state Attorneys General specifically requesting the federal government to expand abortion access during the COVID-19 pandemic, even as countless other business and medical facilities have been forced to close and cease operations. Here’s how the letter begins:

We write to request that you increase access to reproductive healthcare, including safe and legal abortion, during this pandemic. Specifically, as the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) considers policy changes in response to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency, we urge you to waive its Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS), or use FDA enforcement discretion, to allow certified prescribers to use telehealth for Mifepristone, the medication abortion prescription drug.

Did you catch that? Herring wants women in Virginia to be able to get abortion drugs mailed to them without ever having to leave their house!

After all, according to Governor Northam’s recent Public Health Emergency Order Two, killing unborn children at every stage of pregnancy during this time is apparently considered necessary healthcare. Read our recent blog about that HERE.

But evidently, it’s not enough that Virginia’s women can still access abortion at any time (despite not being able to get pretty much any other elective procedure). According to Mark Herring and other Leftist Attorneys General, they should be able to get it without leaving their sofa, simply by asking for it over a video chat.

But we know that the use of Mifepristone frequently causes additional, and sometimes severe, complications for women that require heightened medical attention. Furthermore, these chemical abortions are only designed for pregnancies that are less than 10 weeks along (70 days or fewer since the start of the last menstrual period). How is a physician to determine, via telehealth, how far along a women is in her pregnancy? Without an ultrasound, which can obviously only be performed in person, there is no truly reliable way to know. Allowing for this kind of drug regimen without a woman ever having to actually see a physician puts women in far greater danger than they already would be.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood profits continue to rise as all services but abortion decline during the COVID-19 crisis, since abortion is where most of their money is made. It should be no surprise by now that there will always be those who seek to prey on and profit from the most vulnerable during times of crisis. That is, in fact, the abortion industry’s entire business model. Sadly, abortion champions like our own Attorney General are using COVID-19 as a way to capitalize upon such crises all the more, while those who would pray peacefully and offer life-affirming services near abortion centers are being arrested across the country.

We’re working on ways to push back against the hypocritically favored treatment of abortionists and the medically dangerous abortion practices being touted. In the meantime, please continue praying for and reaching out to those in your life who could possibly be drawn into the destructive allure of easy abortion, and let them know there’s a better way and people standing by ready and able to help.
